Castor Oil and its benefits

Castor oil has a variety of health and cosmetic benefits. It is a vegetable oil that comes from the castor bean plant, rich in ricinoleic acid—a type of fatty acid with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and pain-relieving properties.

Using castor oil as a natural remedy dates back thousands of years. In ancient Egypt, castor oil was used to soothe dry eyes and relieve constipation. In Indian Ayurvedic medicine castor oil has been used to improve arthritis pain and treat skin conditions and dissolve cysts.

It can be taken orally or applied directly to the skin.

Rich in fatty acids, castor oil has moisturizing qualities however, it is thick, so I dilute it with a carrier oil such as almond, or sesame oil and then I add a concoction of all the other oils that I have recently collected.

There is no right nor wrong blend; use your intuition and sense of smell to create a luxurious oil blend that will nourish your face and body.

Other oils that I add:

Frankincense essential oil, a few drops helps to reduce fine lines and tighten lose skin.

Black seed oil which is a potent anti-oxidant.

Dewey Cacao oil also rich in antioxidants.

Black Gram oil tightens crepey skin.

Helychrisum strengthens blood vessels and reduces redness.

Slather yourself after your shower and watch your skin flourish.
